Qualification Awarded:

Students who successfully complete all of the courses available in the program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS), have a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and who have also completed their vocational internship, are awarded an associate degree in the field of CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY. This diploma degree corresponds to the fifth level of education within the scope of the European Qualifications Framework.

Profile of the Program:

Construction technology program is a prior education program focus on building and using every kind of structure used by people on daily life. Basic principles of mathematics and physics are teached in this program after than general static, structural static, structural materials, mechanic of materials, reinforced concrete and steel structure, hydraulic, transportation and geotechnical courses are given. Main purpose of the program is educated technicians have enough knowledge and skillfull enable to follow science and technology and able to transfer the his/her knowledge to practice. Sap2000,METRAJ and AUTOCAD courses are also given in this program. Also the stundents can transfer their knowledge to practice at the structural materials laboratory, highway materials laboratory, soil mechanics laboratory, and they can use land survey equpments. The students graduated Construction Technology program have enough knowledge and skillful capable to civil and official building sector and private engineering and architecture office. Objectives: To have the basic knowledge about basic principles of mathematics and physics, general static, structural static, structural materials, mechanic of materials, reinforced concrete and steel structure, hydraulic, transportation and geotechnic. To have enough knowledge and skill about following science and technology and able to transfer his/her knowledge to the practice. To be able to do basic calculations and basic drawings related to the civil engineering. To use the basic computer programs related to the engineering such as SAP2000, METRAJ and AUTOCAD. To transfer their knowledge to the practice at the structural materials laboratory, highway materials laboratory, soil mechanics laboratory. To have ability for using land survey equipments. To gain professional and etiquette conscious and to be able to have basic construction knowledge and culture, give technical service to the construction sector by using their knowledge and skills as it is needed.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples:

The students graduated Construction Technology program able to work civil and official building sector and private engineering and architecture office generally. Construction technician can work as a technique personal the project level and building level of the buildings for example dams, roads, pavements, house, bridges, water networks etc, materials testing laboratory and institution of controlling of construction.

Access to Further Studies:

If they take the vertical transfer exam (DGS) made by ÖSYM and get the sufficient score, they can make vertical transfer to undergraduate departments such as Civil Engineering, Technology Faculty and Architecture.
